Dr. Aditya Sharma, MBBS, FSVM, a Tenured Associate Professor of Medicine in the Division of Cardiovascular Medicine (Internal Medicine) and the Department of Emergency Medicine, is a trustee for the Society for Vascular Medicine since 2021 and Associate Editor for the Vascular Medicine journal. He is also the Director of the Vascular Medicine Program, the Program Director for the Vascular Medicine Fellowship, and the Director of the Multidisciplinary Pulmonary Embolism Response Team at the University of Virginia. He is also the co-chair of the 2023 SVM Comprehensive Review of Vascular Ultrasound Interpretation and Registration Preparation and a Scientific Committee member of VEINS 2023. Dr. Sharma is involved in multiple clinical trials and studies as a principal investigator or co-investigator of several clinical trials and registries. He has published extensively and has written several book chapters related to vascular disorders with over published 100 manuscripts. In addition, he has authored several clinical consensus/guideline statements, including co-chairing the SVM lead consensus document on the interpretation of peripheral arterial and venous Doppler waveforms.
