Dr. Henkin is a board-certified cardiologist, specializing in vascular medicine, and an Associate Professor of Medicine, at Mayo Clinic (Rochester, MN). He completed medical training at Boston University School of Medicine, internal medicine residency at Mayo Clinic, with consequent fellowships in Vascular Medicine at Mayo Clinic and Cardiovascular Medicine at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center. His clinical focus includes diagnosis and management of aortic diseases, including connective tissue disorders such as Marfan Syndrome, Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome, and Loeys-Dietz Syndroms; short- and long-term management of spontaneous coronary artery dissection (SCAD) and associated arteriopathies; management of venous thromboembolism with focus on quality of life after pulmonary embolism; and cardiovascular optimization of patients with polyvascular disease. Dr. Henkin is active in research with an interest in cardiovascular outcomes in patients undergoing vascular surgery, such as pre-operative cardiac optimization prior to major vascular surgery and cardiovascular outcomes after vascular surgery; as well as management of post-pulmonary embolism syndrome.
